Who is hiring coffee machine technicians in Europe right now? A member with 3 years on coffee and vending machines is looking

@jeevatharshan wrote to me this week with his CV, and I want to put his question to the people here who would actually know.

He is a coffee and vending machine technician: two years at DMD Coffee & Vending in Romania, and since 2025 Senior Technician at Damn Fine Coffee in Sri Lanka, leading installations and repairs across client sites and training the junior techs. Before coffee he did four years of IT and network administration (CCNA, MCSA), so his fault-finding is methodical: multimeter, pressure gauge and diagnostic software rather than guesswork. He handles the plumbing side too: water lines, filtration, pumps, pressure regulators.

Three things I would love answers to from the technicians, service managers and equipment dealers here:

1. Which companies in Europe actually hire technicians from outside the EU and sponsor the permit? Manufacturers with their own service networks (Franke, Schaerer, Egro, Thermoplan, WMF), the big dealers, or vending operators like Selecta?
2. Does a Romanian employment history help? Romania is in the EU and, since 2025, in Schengen, which should count for something with a European employer.
3. What would you add to a technician's profile to get a service manager's attention? Brands serviced, ticket volumes, certifications, anything else?
