Hood Famous Bakeshop (Ballard) is seeking an assistant production baker with at least 1 year of previous experience in a bakery - specifically in a wholesale kitchen setting to join our team. We are looking for a production baker to fulfill the wholesale and retail production of our cheesecakes (and other growing baked goods lines) and work with a small kitchen support team. We are a small scale production environment that has been wholesaling for 6 years.
Our ideal candidate is reliable, possesses strong communication skills - both verbal and written, works well independently and alongside a small team. As our company continues to expand and grow, we are seeking creative, passionate, and loyal individuals to join our team.
Familiarity with Filipino flavors is a plus. This part time position (20 hours/week) with room for additional hours as production scales, hourly (plus pooled tips), and is eligible for benefits if full time.

Baking Production and Prep

Safely utilizing commercial kitchen equipment including large hobart mixers, rotating rack production ovens, and other tools to execute the job successfully ◆ Observing products across multiple stages, to include:
ensure proper weights, baking, topping quantity, cooling timeline, labeling accuracy and finished goods stored properly ◆ Assess production and prep needs and create weekly production schedule accordingly ◆ Crafting and creating new and exciting cheesecake flavors ◆ Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time and ready for pick ups, internal retail transfers, and delivery schedule ◆ Ensuring the execution and fulfillment of catering and pre/orders ◆ Ensuring the highest quality of our products ◆ Other duties as assigned ➔ Inventory ◆ Work with our Operations Director to purchase supplies and ingredients and ensure we are properly stocked at all times ◆ Take daily and weekly inventory ◆ Communicate when we are running low on any items ◆ Receive inventory from vendors, ensure proper storage, and consolidation ➔ Kitchen Maintenance ◆ Maintain an organized and efficient bakery ◆ Wash dishes ◆ Maintain a clean and safe environment: wipe down surfaces, sweep, mop, and take out garbage ◆ Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and report any concerns to supervisor ◆ Follow opening and closing procedures ➔ Brand Ambassadorship ◆ Adhere to company’s core values ◆ Share Hood Famous Bakeshop’s history and recent/upcoming news Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S ➔ 2 years baking experience (ideally wholesale production)
