JOB TITLE STORE MANAGER III
REPORTS TO: RETAIL GENERAL MANAGER
RANGE: $66,500 - $74,880
STATUS: SALARIED; EXEMPT
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Store Manager III is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a NM C store. In this position you will manage the daily store operations, ensuring prompt and courteous customer service, coffee and food items are prepared according to Nisqually Market’s (NM) quality and safety standards, and the general operations are compliant with all NM operational requirements.
Store Level #1 Performance Indicators:
- Needs to hit and maintain at least 3 qualifiers each week:
- Fuel gallon sales of 50K or greater
- In store retail sales of $100Kor greater
- Customer counts of 10k or higher (Average YTD)
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other ordinances, laws or established guidelines.
- Familiar with coffee
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous deli, retail or restaurant experience of 3-5 years required; management experience of 3-5 years required.
- Have or obtain Washington State food handlers permit within 14 days of employment
- Working knowledge of HR and Payroll processing systems
- Consistency and quality food and/or drink preparation and the ability to follow directions and recipes.
- Successful completion of corporate training program required; certifications related to position including Food Handlers Card, Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP), Food Safety Quality (FSQA), ETC.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- BA/BS Preferred in business, leadership or food management
- Food Handling Safety Certifications
- Working knowledge of OSHA and other retail safety requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Manages inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed, and conducting regular audits to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Hires, trains, and supervises staff, providing ongoing coaching and evaluations to foster a high-performing team environment and maintain morale.
- Implements and drives marketing and promotional efforts, while also identifying local opportunities to increase customer base and profits.
- Oversees and ensures food preparation, compliance and sustainability with all Tribal, Federal, State and local health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards. Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with tobacco and liquor regulations and laws.
- Resolves customer complaints using a diplomatic and courteous approach.
- Estimates food costs and tracks; ensures logistics and purchasing requirements.
- Manages inventory and purchases food and supplies.
- Establishes and maintains health standards that meet or exceed Tribal, Federal and State Standards.
- Periodically evaluates equipment for repairs and maintenance, schedules for service.
- Collaborates with Retail GM to develop new marketing, food and other sales campaigns.
- Maintains sales records.
- Prepares and submits operations reports and other documentation requested by the Retail GM.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversight of staff assigned to the location including the hiring, separation, coaching, development, etc.
- Assists with new hires and training of the team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to traverse all parts of the retail location
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to manage stress
- Prolonged periods of standing on your feet throughout the day.
- Potential for after-hour work including nights, weekends and holidays.
