Server (part-time)

Expectations and Responsibilities
- Due to British Columbia Liquor laws servers serving alcohol must 16+.
- Knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails and safe food handling.
- Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with Vancouver Island Health Authority, the Province of British Columbia and the James Bay Inn standards
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time
- Positive attitude
- Comfortable working alone and within a team setting
- Ability to communicate with team and management in positive manner.
- Strictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
- Follow all health and safety standards developed or adhered to by the James Bay Inn.
- Provide professional, courteous and efficient presentation of food and beverage service to all guests.
- Clean and set up tables and perform other food service related duties, including general cleaning and set up.
- Ability to learn how our food is to be presented to our guests.
- Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist.
- Set up, stock, and maintain work areas. Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures and utilizing cleaning to adhere to health and safety standards
