We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Plant Supervisor to support and drive our Plant Department at Blackdown Garden Centre. Location: Blackdown Garden Centre Hours: Full time, 42.5 hours, including alternate weekend working Salary: Competitive, depending on experience The Role This is a hands-on and varied role within our Plants Department. You will play a key part in ensuring the department is commercially successful, well-stocked, beautifully presented, and that every customer receives knowledgeable and friendly service. You will also support the Department Manager in maintaining exceptional retail standards and maximising sales. Key Responsibilities Ordering plant stock and monitoring availability Reviewing sales and performance reports to identify opportunities for growth Managing merchandising plans and stock rotation strategies Identifying and taking action on slow-moving stock Ensuring POS materials are accurate and displayed correctly Maintaining high retail and housekeeping standards across the plant area Creating visually appealing and inspirational plant displays to maximise sales Providing knowledgeable advice to customers and assisting with carry-to-car service Using the EPOS system confidently and accurately Following up on action points from reports and team floor walks Supporting the Department Manager with the day-to-day running of the department Deputy Responsibilities Deputising for the Department Manager during holidays and days off Organising daily and weekly team tasks Communicating updates, instructions, and guidelines from the wider plant team Escalating any issues or concerns to senior management About You We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about plants, gardening, and retail Commercially aware with a strong eye for detail Confident in merchandising and stock management A natural team leader who can motivate and organise others Professional, friendly, and customer-focused Flexible and able to work alternate weekends What We Offer Competitive salary Generous staff discount Ongoing training and development Career progression opportunities within the Blue Diamond Group A supportive and inspiring retail environment If you are ready to grow your career in horticultural retail and want to be part of a busy and successful Plants Department, we would love to hear from you.
