Part-Time Gallery Attendant

Phoenix Art Museum is looking for part-time Gallery Attendants to help provide a welcoming, safe, secure environment for the Museum’s collections, its members, guests, volunteers, and staff while maintaining the Museum’s customer service program and standards.

MAIN JOB DUTIES
1. Assist guests; provide direction to works of art, exhibitions, and Museum amenities to enhance their visit. Provide general information about the Museum and its exhibitions, the Palette restaurant, the Museum Store, facility rentals, and upcoming events.
2. Remain alert and watchful, circulate frequently through scheduled posts to deter acts of vandalism, theft, or negligence and ensure the safety and positive experience of guests.
3. Report all suspicious conditions or persons; provide descriptions of violators of Museum policies; report accidents, injuries and/or hazardous conditions. Advise Security Dispatch of any areas of the Museum that require cleaning and/or maintenance for the safety of others.
4. Stand at posted area for long periods.
5. Effectively handle evacuations and difficult situations according to Museum policy. Provide First Aid care to those in need.
6. Assist in the set-up and takedown of special events.
7. Proactively seek and obtain information regarding Museum policies/promotions, activities, and events in order to provide a high level of customer service.
8. Operate the Museum’s paperless check-in system and provide positive customer service experiences to all Museum guests and clients.
9. Actively promote and sell Museum memberships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate or equivalent
2. Minimum one-year customer service experience.

Knowledge of:
1. Basic customer service best practices and communication skills
2. Basic technology/computer software (iPad, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
3. Microsoft Outlook

Skill and ability to:
1. Enjoy working with the public, meeting new people, and working with volunteers.
2. Learn and use the Museum’s ticketing system and paperless check-in system.
