In The Field Internship 2026

The In The Field Internship has been devised to give an individual developing their practice within the realm of contemporary visual art experience of our residency programmes through assisting in managing our newly launching funded programme. There will also be the opportunity to support other initiatives that we are developing as archives of the programme. This includes the Pamphlet Series and the 21st Century Artist Recommended Library. We expect this opportunity to be suitable for someone interested in expanding their practice to include artist support and organisational systems and strategy. Hospitalfield is seeking applications from a dedicated and enthusiastic person who will join our team for the Internship this autumn which is roughly a month long. The chosen candidate will be expected to live on site for the duration, they will be provided with accommodation and all their meals. Working alongside our small, dedicated team you will be assisting with our residency programme and supporting the development of these other related initiatives. This is an opportunity to work with a small group of artists and to an insight into the principles of supporting practice through the day to day management of a specific programme. You will emerge with a clear understanding of what a powerful impact such time can be for artists and you will be able to recognise how you have played a part in helping Hospitalfield to deliver this important programme. You may also be asked to help with other elements of the programme including communications and events.
