All-rounder

As a barista, you will have a sound knowledge about coffee. It’s the Barista’s job to ensure quality and consistency of all beverages, manage the orders with the chef and other staff to deliver the best service possible to customers.

Most importantly, you will maintain strong relationships with customers such as remembering regular’s order.

You’ll also support other team members whenever it’s needed, such as simple food prep, daily general duties.

**Training will be provided.**

### Main Duties

- Excellent front of house skills such as welcoming customers, taking orders and handling payments
- Describing the differences in coffee beans/single origins, making recommendations to customers and answering any questions about coffee.
- Coffee making to a high standard of taste and quality, adjusting coffee grind as needed and general cleaning to the coffee grinder.
- The knowledge and ability to handle single-origin coffee beans.
- Preparing espresso-based coffee drinks, such as long black, flat white, latte and cappuccino.
- Preparing filter coffee such as batch brew, cold brew and pour-over.
- Preparing other beverages, including tea, hot chocolate and other non-caffeinated drinks.
- Keeping coffee-making equipment clean throughout the day and following a procedure to thoroughly clean the equipment at the end of the day.
- Coordinate orders with the chef and other staff to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Replenishing shelves and fridges with items such as baked goods, snacks and bottled drinks.
- Training new employees on how to operate equipment and prepare different drinks.
- Be able to do opening and closing shift.
