PGA Golf Professional Coach
Key Details
About This Role
For over 20 years, PGA Professional coach Peter Langford, has developed and managed the South Gloucestershire and Stroud college Golf Academy since its inception, to becoming the best in the country, winning the National Intercollegiate Tour title for 3 of the last 4 years.
Peter has mentored over 300 young golfers along their pathway to the highest levels of the game. Some of the golfers on the college programme include DP World Tour player Jordan Smith, PGA Cup Player Ash Mansell, England Men’s Order of Merit winner Mitch Waite, Clutch Tour winner Olly Huggins, Carris Trophy winner Ben Amor, Welsh Men’s Strokeplay champion Milan Reed, The Open competitor Ali Balcombe, and most recently England Boys team member Lewy Hayward, to name just a few who have gone on to realise their potential in the game.
Peters coaching philosophy is to put enjoyment at the heart of each lesson, with simple steps to make progress. A happy golfer is a motivated golfer. A motivated golfer will put the practice in to get better.
Peter’s aim is to help you quieten the mind, get you closer to being ‘In The Zone’, to let your potential out, and put a smile on your face.
As well as coaching the elite of the golf academy, Peter has also taught many of the wider college staff, from beginners to intermediate levels, young and ‘experienced’.
Whether its traditional technical coaching, competitive and structured practice, analysis of on-course stats, developing a pre/post-shot routine, or other mental skills for success, Peter is comfortable in all areas, and has a particular love of the short game.
When he’s not coaching, Peter can generally be found on two wheels, either road or downhill mountain biking with his family, trying to stay upright.
