The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) is seeking an Associate Objects Conservator to join our Conservation Department. The successful candidate will assist in the preservation and conservation of a diverse collection of objects, including decorative arts, textiles, and archaeological artifacts. Responsibilities include conducting condition assessments, performing conservation treatments, and documenting procedures. The Associate Conservator will collaborate with curators, registrars, and other staff to ensure the care of the collection and participate in exhibitions and loans. A strong background in conservation science and hands-on experience with various materials is essential. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
