About This Role
We need a high energy, committed and creative leader who will be responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and engineering functions, supporting operations to support the strategic plan. This involves management of maintenance technology and resources to plan and execute preventative maintenance and repair problems that will result in efficient and cost-effective operations. This individual will also oversee various engineering projects, processes, budgets and timelines and making any necessary adjustments to insure successful completion.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
·Must be a creative problem solver with a high sense of urgency who wants to have fun moving our business forward.
·Able to work safely after receiving extensive safety training in all OSHA required subjects that relate to a manufacturing environment.
·Will be a member of our leadership team and have rotating coverage responsibilities.
·Lead maintenance personnel in their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives for safety, quality, cost and customer service.
·Provide leadership in implementing/maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
·Develop and fine tune mill critical spares
·Coordination with contracted engineers and construction supervisors and crews.
·Manage the facilities utilities operation – steam (gas boiler), electrical distribution, sewer and water.
·Executes major repairs and upgrades for mill infrastructure, air water, gas, chemical and fire systems.
·Perform follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime/inefficient operational issues (RCFA).
·Use various software programs and production databases to document and determine effective process operation and timing of equipment maintenance/upgrades.
·Manages Facility Capital and Major Repair and Maintenance budgets and tracks expenditures/progress.
·Develop designs and conduct engineering for complex projects.
·Complex projects involve senior management working relationships to ensure business goals and strategies are met.
·Duties may be expanded up on and additional duties may be assigned
·Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
·Perform calibration of instrument systems, and documenting the calibration
**Leadership Responsibilities**: This position leads the Non-exempt Union individuals in the Utility and Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
**Additional Requirements**: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline and 4+ years of experience is a plus. Must have valid drivers license.
