About This Role

The role of the Community Food Hub Worker is to work with Letham4All staff, volunteers and partners to operate the Community Food Hub, ensuring the collection and distribution of surplus food from a range of suppliers in Perth and the surrounding area.

The primary outcome is to reduce food waste and ensure surplus food is fairly distributed through the Community Fridge4All and the Muirton and Moncrieff Community Food Shares initiatives in Perth.

The role will also support community food events, including community suppers, lunches and The Hub Café, helping reduce local food insecurity by using good surplus food.

### Experience
This role requires a proactive and vigilant individual with a passion for fair and connected communities and an interest in food redistribution.

The successful candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills, along with a good understanding of the local community. Experience working in the community and managing volunteers in the food sector is desirable, though training and support will be provided.

A relevant Food Hygiene qualification and a driving licence are required.

### Essential Job Functions
- Co-ordinate the receiving and distribution of surplus food
- Build a support network for the fridge, including liaising with contributors
- Operate the Community Food Hub and associated initiatives within health and safety guidelines
- Manage volunteer driver rotas for food collection
- Organise volunteer rotas to ensure consistent hub operation
- Support training of new volunteers
- Collect monitoring and evaluation data
- Contribute to community food events and healthy eating initiatives
- Report progress to the Manager and Board of Trustees

### Working Demands
A flexible approach is required, with occasional evening and weekend work. Work patterns will be agreed based on project needs.
