Who We Are? Hibiscus Brew is a wellness café located in Brooklyn, New York. Our goal is to be the café of choice for the local Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood.. What you’ll do Help to make hot beverages, healthy smoothies, juices, salads, and handcrafted sandwiches. Hibiscus Brew team member, you will be one of the faces of the brand, live into the playful brand spirit when customers come in. In this role, you will be largely responsible for selling items and building relationships with the customer to build repeat business and help them with food choices. Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Team Lead to oversee daily operations at Hibiscus Brew, with a particular focus on managing our presence at Smorgasburg on Saturdays and Sundays. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a forward-thinking mindset, and the ability to ensure seamless execution of both in-store and event operations. Key Responsibilities: • Smorgasburg Event Management: • Coordinate and oversee Hibiscus Brew’s booth at Smorgasburg, ensuring timely setup, efficient operations, and compliance with all event guidelines. • Lead and motivate the event team, ensuring exceptional customer service and product quality. • Manage inventory levels for events, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing waste. • In-Store Operations: • Supervise daily café operations, including staff scheduling, training, and performance management. • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations. • Implement and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Event Planning and Execution: • Develop and execute strategies for in-store events and promotions to drive customer engagement and sales. • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events and new product launches. • Leadership and Development: • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and high morale. • Provide ongoing training and support to staff, ensuring alignment with Hibiscus Brew’s standards and values. Qualifications: • Valid driver’s license. • Valid food handler’s certification. • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the food and beverage industry. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work weekends, early mornings, and adapt to a flexible schedule as required by events. • Forward-thinking approach with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience managing event operations, particularly in a market or festival setting. • Familiarity with Smorgasburg or similar large-scale food events. • Basic proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale systems. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs) and setting up equipment. • Comfortable working in various weather conditions during outdoor events.
