Facilities Assistant

Part time including one day every other weekend £13.50-£14.00 per hour The Facilities team at Suffolk Food Hall plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operation, function, and presentation of our site for both customers and staff. Working within a small team, this is a varied role made up of general building maintenance and repair, grounds upkeep, stock management and health and safety compliance with a chance to make a difference. Key parts of the role: Support the Maintenance and Grounds Assistants with the physical programme of planned preventative maintenance as per schedule. Support the Maintenance and Grounds Assistants with the physical presentation of the site. Support Health and Safety compliance across the site. Liaise with external contractors when required. Liaise with tenants where required. Key skills required for this role are; ESSENTIAL Experience of a trade/s, or ability to demonstrate competence at general building tasks (plumbing, painting/decorating, carpentry) Prior experience with Health & Safety compliance Attention to detail, and pride in doing a job well Ability to problem solve and think on feet Good communication skills – dealing with customers, colleagues, and external contractors Good listening skills – dealing with customers, colleagues and external contractors Proactive attitude Ability to work individually, or within a team and self-motivate Enthusiasm – wanting to make a difference, and learn about the specifics of the site DESIRABLE Comfortable with IT (ability to competently use MS Office) Prior experience of grounds/gardening work Full, clean UK driving licence For more information please call 01473 786610 and discuss with Russ Haddow.
