Part-time Barista

We are adding a part-time, weekday BARISTA position with the opportunity for advancement to LEAD BARISTA with demonstrated excellent performance. The role will open NU Brew Cafe 2-3 days per week, from roughly 6:30am-3:30pm (days are flexible). The role will also be cross-trained as a Bookseller at our sister store, Lykke Books and will enjoy staff discounts and other perks at both stores. ​ A successful candidate will be: CREATIVE - Participating in recipe development, food & drink photography, and more PEOPLE-CENTERED, COMMUNITY-FOCUSED - Thriving on interactions with other people, developing meaningful relationships with customers and teammates DEPENDABLE - Excellent and on-time attendance; trustworthy; reliable PROACTIVE, SELF-MOTIVATED - Looks for ways to fill downtime with tasks that help meet the store's goals PROBLEM SOLVER - Takes reasonable steps to solve challenges before escalating for support; communicates with leaders about outcome and shares learnings. ​ Lead Barista duties include progressive responsibility in recipe development, supply management & ordering, development of policies and procedures (with manager support), staff mentoring, and event management. This new role will be one of our core leadership team alongside our Lykke Books coordinator (Tammy) and owner/manager (Brie). There are also opportunities to get involved with other aspects of store management such as marketing, financial management, and other areas of interest. Promotion to Lead Barista will increase compensation.
