Cupa Cabana is looking for an Assistant Barista to support our event espresso team at weddings, corporate events, private parties, and other special occasions. This role is perfect for someone who is dependable, upbeat, organized, and ready to jump in wherever needed to help create a smooth and memorable guest experience. We are currently seeking individuals with weekday availability, along with some flexibility for weekends as needed. Because this is event-based catering work, hours are not fixed and will depend on the event schedule, season, and business needs. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, dependable, and excited to work a variety of events as opportunities arise. As an Assistant Barista, you’ll work closely with the Head Barista to keep service efficient, stations clean and stocked, and drinks consistent and beautifully presented. From setup to breakdown, you’ll play an important part in helping each event run seamlessly while representing the Cupa Cabana brand with professionalism and energy. Assistant Barista Position Summary The Assistant Barista supports the espresso station team by preparing beverages, maintaining station cleanliness, restocking supplies, and delivering an excellent guest experience. This role works closely with the Head Barista to keep service fast, organized, and consistent—helping ensure smooth setup, service, and breakdown at every event. Key Responsibilities Support espresso bar service by preparing drinks and assisting with order flow Follow recipes and presentation standards for all beverages Steam milk, prep cups, add syrups/flavors, and assemble drinks efficiently during peak volume Maintain a clean, organized workstation (wiping, rinsing, sanitizing, trash management) Restock bar items throughout service (cups, lids, stirrers, napkins, syrups, milk, ice, etc.) Assist with station setup and breakdown, including packing, loading, and unloading equipment Communicate clearly with the Head Barista and team to keep service running smoothly Provide friendly, professional guest service and represent the brand on-site Support basic equipment care (backflushing, rinsing pitchers, keeping tools clean) Additional Responsibilities: Warehouse Communicate with the warehouse team regarding upcoming event needs (equipment, product, supplies, special requests) Assist with warehouse prep as needed, including staging, packing, labeling, loading support, and post-event returns/restock Required Qualifications Ability to follow recipes, work quickly, and stay organized under pressure Strong communication skills and a positive, guest-first attitude Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working events (nights/weekends as scheduled) Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs unassisted (heavier items require team lift/dolly) Reliable transportation to report to warehouse/event locations as scheduled Performance Measures (How Success Is Evaluated) Guest feedback and on-site attitude Speed and accuracy during service Drink consistency and adherence to recipes/standards Cleanliness, organization, and restocking reliability Team communication and professionalism Work Environment / Schedule Event-based work with varying locations and hours.
