Job Title: Monorail Driver and Customer Service Representative (Hybrid position) Reports to: Operations Supervisor FSLA Status: Non-exempt; At-will Compensation and Benefits: Starting hourly rate is $22.50/hour. Upon successfully passing Monorail Operator Training, hourly rate increases to $24.00/hour. Medical insurance eligibility after 60 days (must be working a minimum of 25 hours per week to qualify) SIMPLE IRA Plan participation after the new-hire probationary period (90 days) Book and tuition reimbursement program for continued learning after the new-hire probationary period (90 days) Schedule & Availability: This is a part-time hybrid position. Shifts typically range from 6-9 hours, including weekends and afternoon/evening hours. The Monorail operates 7 days a week, 363 days a year. We value work-life balance and strive to schedule employees with two consecutive days off whenever possible. Monthly schedules are released at least one month in advance. Position Objective: The Seattle Center Monorail system plays a significant role in providing fast, direct transportation to and from events at Seattle Center. This unique position includes learning how to operate the historic Seattle Center Monorail as well as working as a customer service representative to assist passengers. Essential Functions: Provide exceptional customer service and represent the Monorail with professionalism and enthusiasm Operate the Monorail trains in a safe and professional manner while meeting on-time performance requirements Communicate clearly with operations and maintenance staff regarding system status and passenger needs Assist guests with directions, ticketing information, and general questions about the Monorail and Seattle Center Troubleshoot ticket kiosk or crowd flow issues during peak events Actively participate in the Employee Safety Reporting Program and follow all safety protocols Maintain a clean and welcoming train and station environment; coordinate with janitorial staff as needed Perform any other duties that are required by the Operations Supervisor or Manager All candidates must: Pass a pre-employment drug screening, all subsequent random screenings, and DOT physical exams. Successfully complete, within 3-months of hire date, the Seattle Monorail Driver Training and Certification process, which requires: Valid driver’s license Clean driving record with no violations in the last three years for a suspended license, moving violations, reckless or negligent driving, DUI, hit-and-run incidents, vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, or more than one at-fault accident Complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certification and safety training Education, Experience, and Skills Required: High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or transportation preferred Welcoming personality and …
