Situated in Wellington Central on the shoulder of the ever-popular Midland Park, Coffee Supreme Midland Park provides the complete experience for coffee-lovers. Whether you're stopping by for a cup of joe and a cheese scone, stocking up on coffee for home, or looking to up your coffee game with some new equipment, this is the spot!
We're currently on the lookout for a part time Cafe Assistant / Barista to join the team.

You’ll need to be excited about creating exceptional hospitality experiences, understanding that great coffee starts with great hospitality—and you live to Nurture Supreme Relationships, connecting with everyone from our cherished regulars to first-time visitors in an approachable, engaging, and friendly manner.
You'll be a confident coffee maker with a desire to learn and grow. You Take Coffee Seriously, but Not Too Seriously, mastering top-quality espresso while keeping the vibe relaxed and informal. Ideally, you have at least 2 years of barista experience in a high-volume setting, and any existing knowledge of specialty coffee, cultivation, and processing methods will be a huge advantage. At the very least you'll need to have a genuine love for coffee - we can teach you a lot, but it’ll be important that you are keen to put effort into continuously learning about speciality coffee.
We're looking for someone who is Curious & Creative enough to seek out continuous improvement and ready to Take Ownership of the cafe experience, from the moment a customer walks in to the moment they leave.
### Some of the key duties include:
- Greeting customers, making them feel welcome and continuing to engage with them throughout their time at Midland Park in a warm and friendly manner.
- Getting to know our valued regulars, their names, drink prefs etc.
- Talking to customers about our coffees and products, and helping them to buy beans and products for making great coffee at home.
- Smashing out top quality espresso drinks.
- Brewing up batch filter on the Fetco.
- Pack, grind and assemble coffee orders for customers, and process transactions using our POS.
- Prepare and serve simple counter food for customers.
- Clearing tables, washing dishes and keeping the store looking clean, tidy and inviting.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the business.
### Key requirements:
- Genuinely enjoy connecting with people and making their day.
- Ideally have 2 years experience as a barista working in specialty coffee.
- Have experience with soft brewing techniques and equipment.
- Have some basic knowledge of specialty coffee, processing methods etc.
- Identify with the Coffee Supreme brand and values.
- Be a team player and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Be reliable and punctual.
- Be well presented and have an eye for detail.
- Work hard and be high energy.

This is a rostered position with around 20 hours per week guaranteed.
Hours will likely be in the ballpark of 7.00am - 11.00am Monday to Friday (yup, no weekends!), but ability to flexible with hours is preferable.
