Lead Barista

We’re looking for a skilled coffee professional to train our barista team, assist the shop manager, and ensure exceptional coffee quality and service. The Lead Barista will develop the team's technical skills, and assist with coffee and drink roll outs. They ensure our crew is confident and ready to serve the outstanding coffee with the top-notch hospitality.What you’ll do:Train baristas on techniques, workflows, procedures, and coffee concepts Be the manager’s representative and lead team in the absence of managerResolve customer complaints, ensure all tasks and side work are completed Develop and update coffee and drink recipes with quality assuranceTrain staff on procedures and standards for every coffee and tea product Maintain training records and assist with ingredient sourcingOrganize barista development activities to continue growth/educationShare coffee knowledge through ongoing research and experimentation Perform all duties required of baristas Uphold PERC’s mission and values in their workWhat we’re looking for people who:Have at least one year of specialty coffee experienceHave training, teaching, or coaching experienceStrong knowledge of coffee extraction and equipmentHave an inclusive mindset and team-player attitudeHave a service-first mentality with a willingness to learnHas the ability to communicate professionallyIs an active listener and is fully presentHave a positive outlook to challenges at workIs able to give and receive constructive feedbackAre honest, dependable, and punctualAbility to stand for up to 8 hours, repeatedly lift and carry up to 30lbs, and make repetitive hand and arm motions including tamping espresso Ability to participate in quality assurance of products, including tasting espressoJob Requirements:Have one year of specialty coffee and barista experienceWe hire for full-time lead barista positions as available Full-time (30–40 hrs/week), 5 shifts a weekAvailable for shifts starting between 6am -12pmweekend availability is requiredCompensation & Benefits:$16/hr plus tipsHealth, vision, & dental insurancePaid time offPaid sick leaveFree coffee and swagThe job description above does not list each and every job responsibility of a lead barista.
