Barista and Deli Specialist

Job Title: Barista and Deli Specialist Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time Reports To: Everyday Café Manager Salary: $13/hr + Tips, and Employee Discount at the Cafe Key Qualifications: • Demonstrate the ability to be positive, energetic, and friendly with customers and staff • Available to work flexible hours (may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays) • Engage with customers, including anticipating, discovering, and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication • Professional demeanor • Ability to multitask • Ability to learn quickly • Ability to read and memorize food and drink recipes • Ability to memorize and follow operating procedures • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification as needed • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to work as part of a team • Completion of ServSafe food service course and testing within 90 days of hire • Prior customer service experience required • Prior food service experience required Key Responsibilities: • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Everyday Cafe • Maintains regular and punctual attendance • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the café operating at a high standard and to set a positive example for the community • Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues • Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to operational needs • Delivers phenomenal customer service to all customers by having a positive attitude and delivering a great experience • Follows Everyday Cafe’s operational policies and procedures • Provides quality food and beverages consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards • Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products • Available to perform many different tasks within the café during each shift Core Hours: The Café is currently open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your shift will be determined in conjunction with the Café Manager. Physical Environment: Job will require walking, standing for 8-hour shifts, bending and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds.
