About This Role
The Cantina Shift Lead supports the day-to-day operations of the Museum Cantina by providing leadership, guidance, and hands-on assistance to front-of-house staff. This role ensures a welcoming and efficient guest experience, while also upholding service standards, food safety practices, and smooth services operations. Working closely with the Cantina Supervisor, the Shift Lead acts as a shift supervisor, helping to train staff, resolve guest concerns, and maintain a positive work environment.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
– Supervise daily Cantina operations during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction.
– Provide guidance and support to Cantina staff, including training, coaching, and performance feedback.
– Assist with break management and shift coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
– Oversee cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.
– Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels, restocking supplies, and assisting with orders.
– Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
– Act as a point of contact for guest questions, feedback, or concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
– Assist with special events or museum programs requiring café services.
**Qualifications**
– 2+ years of food service or hospitality experience; prior supervisory experience preferred.
– Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team.
– Knowledge of café or restaurant operations, including POS systems and cash handling.
– Commitment to excellent customer service and guest engagement.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
– Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by museum operations.
