Barman

Job Location: Eldoret, Kenya Reports To: Manager, Rupa’s Mall Branch Principal Duties and Responsibilities Plan, organize, and control the operations of the bar; Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons; Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment and keep the premises neat and tidy; Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol; Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons; Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar; Order or requisition liquors and supplies and assist the Bar & Restaurant Manager with various stock takes when required; Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays; Take responsibility for security of stock in the bar area and restrict access of other staff and customers; Other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum of four years’ experience in a restaurant or catering environment including tray and bar service. In addition: Strong communication skills; Strong work ethic; Immaculately presented. Education Requirements Relevant post-High School qualification.
