Counter Staff

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of coffee service and preparation, be able to work as part of a team, follow cash handling procedures, and provide quick and friendly coffee/beverage service to our guests. Responsibilities: • Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions • Is able to explain differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation • Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino • Generates revenue by attracting new customers and by creating new and exciting menu offerings • Maintains inventory by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; and maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar • Maintains an up-to-date understanding of the job by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks Must have: • Exceptional ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment • Ability to communicate effectively with customers • Previous customer service experience • Experience or interest in making and serving specialty coffee and tea beverages • Ability to work days, nights, and/or weekends as required.
